ABOUT STORYTELLER’S FORGE

Storyteller’s Forge is an indie roleplaying game design studio that focuses on crafting compelling narratives—with a creator focused spotlight. We create full campaigns, storylines, and worlds adaptable for any storyteller’s home world in evocative and immersive ways. We believe all storytellers should be empowered, from expert wordsmiths to a fresh game master taking the leap the first time. The tales from our studio are immersive, epic, and bind groups together.

Build worlds. Tell stories. Slay monsters.

As a studio, our primary goal is to bring the work of artists, writers, designers, and creatives to light through unique methods in the roleplaying community. We empower our teams with the ability to feature and take ownership of the work they create. By allowing this creative pride, we can do interesting concepts like feature immersive soundtracks by artists for play at the table or tell stories using different game systems. From one-shot horror scenarios to epic full-length campaigns, or collaborative apocalyptic settings Storyteller's Forge can help add a campaign to any world setting.

We are partnered with 4Horsemen Publications to tie both roleplaying and literary fiction. Authors who love gaming have a path to full publication for novels in the worlds created, bringing even more life to characters and storylines.

Sustainability

Storyteller’s Forge may bring about the end of worlds (and characters), but we wish to avoid the end of our world. Without our beloved ball of rock, how can we seek to escape it or tell epic tales? To that end, we are doing our part to protect the environment and incorporate sustainability throughout our organization. Beyond that, we care about the environment, and have established our business model to reflect that.

Through 4 Horsemen Publications, every single book we publish will come in digital formats (often enhanced pdfs!). With this model we say goodbye to waste. Gone are the need for resources such as paper, ink, or glue. Digital PDFs eliminate the need for energy and water use associated with physical book production, and waste such as overproduction. Bookmarks, hyperlinks, and the ability to break out artwork or a map is easier in digital format. We also seek to launch our campaigns on as many digital or virtual tabletop engines as we can (hey, we are a business after all).

For those who prefer a physical book, badass dice, and other goods for in-person tabletop play: we’ve got you covered. Our initial print runs are calculated directly off our pre-order sales and only ordered as needed. Once our campaigns are given full life, we practice a print-on-demand model to eliminate overproduction and waste by printing when someone orders a book. Worry not, adventurer! Print-on-demand does not mean a delay in receiving your book; most retailers can print and ship them out instantaneously.

Yet what about behind the veil? We are a cloud-based business, and everyone works remotely. Creativity and design does not need a vaulted studio space where everyone is forced to drive to a central location.

On a personal level, our founder is a green energy advocate, hasn’t filled up a gas tank in 8 years, and has clicked every option to use renewable energy for every utility possible. We are always seeking ways to engage in sustainable operations and find further causes to support in the field of renewables.

We are creating a game called Eco Punk after all.

Diversity & Inclusion

At Storytellers Forge Studios, we recognize that gaming and stories are for everyone—both in their creation and at the table. We are focused lowering the barriers of entry into the creative space that have previously excluded talented artists, writers, editors, and others with diverse backgrounds simply because of who they are.

We are committed to equity, equality, diversity, inclusion, and belonging. Our team is dedicated to constantly improving, and welcome any and all ideas or creative minds at the table. Rather than simply say this, we can showcase it. Primary creatives of each work actually own their copyright, and have control over their own voice on a project. We want to help authors and game designers see themselves in the games they play and take true pride in their work. As a studio to provide that talent, we are dedicated to diverse viewpoints on project to truly bring multiple backgrounds to life. Varying viewpoints positively impact all aspects of creation, for through those lessons can true gems be made.

This pledge isn’t just a guiding principal for us, we are also open to submissions and applications from anyone regardless of their past work experience. One of the largest hurdles of getting into professional game design has always been ‘how many projects have you worked on before.’ Here, we are focused on the quality of the work. Not the person bringing it.

Returns & Exchanges

All sales made from ST Forge are final… because we sell art and creative content. Once it’s shipped out and autographed to you, it’s personalized. There is no going back.
